That burro's gaze speaks volumes about humiliation and despair. It's bitter enough to hate you, but it no longer has enough will to kill you in your sleep.
The burro is dressed like a shopaholic female so is that a "breast" on its side? What holiday could possibly involve adding breasts to animals? That's just asking for some unnatural human/animal lovin' to happen later.

I would think it would be dangerous to paint a dog's skin like that....

The picture of the donkey is a disgusting example of animal exploitation. It looks depressed and unhealthy--all for a photo opportunity for tourists. I usually love this blog but these pictures are horrible. Ugly is fun...cruelty is not. Please reconsider keeping these two pictures up.
If you think this burro shot is offensive, then you should take a look at the heap of photos that have been sent to me, but I have respectfully declined to post.
I'm creeped out by the idea of how long they must have held the dog still enough to paint that.
Plus the paint is no good for the skin. Unless it's a photoshop, like those "painted" cats.

We do some very odd things to our animals. And seldom do the animals in question enjoy what we do to them. The following photos illustrate just that. I never thought a dressed-up burro and a painted Chinese Crested dog could have so much in common.

That's just sad. Is that burro supposed to be in 'drag'?
*shudder* Mind you it's not all that much worse than what some flakey types do to their small dogs *cough*Paris/Britany*cough*

The burro might be dressed up for a festival, not neccessarily just a tourist opportunity.
But I agree.
