Actually, it's quite common for them to live over 50 or 60 years of age. We had a galah that was well in his 60's when we inherited him, and we only had him for a short while as he swore like a trouper (not good in front of small children!) Gave him to my Grandparents and he never swore from that day on, and lived another 15 or so years!

apparently not cute enough for cute overload tho...I sent them the same pic months ago (do I sound bitter???) You are soooo right about the toddler thing...we have 7 birds right now 2 of them are african greys (one is 20 ys old)

LOL! I always pictured the left one saying "MOM! He's touching me again!!!" I love the grin of the one on the right..sooo ornery. We love our greys..they live to be 80 in some cases. I have told my children to pick a bird to adopt cuz they are gonna outlive me!
