They sure have the bill foto be pidgeon babies, but I've not seen any with black skin and yellow down. I guess I'm unsure what they are, but leaning 'oh-boy, ugly!'
They are indeed baby pigeons (squabs). I am not sure its possible to tell what kind of pigeon they are at that size.

OK, these guys are definitely NOT electric eels or catfish, so I'm hedging more towards green tree frogs.

Dear Friends,
Just when I thought pigeons couldn't get any more ugly, with their filth and vomitus eating (it happens on mornings in New York and I hope you never see it), covered in mites, here come their freshly hatched spawn with their dark, dead eyes. Tell them I hate them.

Y'know, I rescued a downed racing pigeon. Had him for 5 months till I found someone who keeps them forever in a neat little hutch out back. They are pretty neat animals. They are just oversized doves (which I've had a few of) and if you took some time, you might discover they have some pretty neat personalities. I'm just sayin'
Booge: dark, dead eyes? Perhaps what you're seeing are the ear openings; their eyes are in front of their ears and they haven't opened yet.

These are indeed baby pigeons - my boyfriend and I had a mommy pigeon lay 2 eggs on our balcony, and while they are rather unattractive while young, they get progressively prettier. In about four weeks they will look much better. Terribly interesting birds though!
No question... BABY PIGEONS!!! I have two of them in my balcony right now, and two three weeks ago in my mother's balcony.

I can confirm that they are definitely baby pigeons as I handed one over to a RSPCA officer a couple of weeks ago as it had been dropped in my garden by a Bird of Prey (type not known).

These are supposedly baby pigeons, but I'm not convinced. Not only do they not look much like pigeons to me, but I don't believe that baby pigeons exist (like carnivorous unicorns or Sasquatch). Can any birders out there ID these for us?
UPDATE: These do appear to be baby pigeons. I never would have guessed.

I can't positively identify them as baby pigeons, but they do look an awful lot like the baby sky rats we on the ledge of the window at work recently.

My uncle races pigeons, and he has about coops in his backyard, so I've seen some baby pigeons in my lifetime. These look about right.
