Are hyenas one of those predator species that regurgitate meat/food for their cubs? This sorta submissive behavior might have the hyenas viewing the humans as parents or care-givers, providing food for them in a way that their own parents provided for them. Just a thought.

Aah, my favorite beasties....
bats might be right on the fedding behavior.
I think this has become some sort of tourist attraction.
There are several videos on youtube of this...it´s kinda impressive.
