A friend of mine adopted a HAIRY Chinese Crested dog -- the hairlessness is a recessive, so you get an alternative version reminiscent of a flossy poodle. They're called Powderpuffs. Unfortunately, the gene for hairlessness has bad effects on teeth, so you see more than a fair share of Chinese Cresteds in the ugly category.
I know this comment probably doesn't belong here... but it just seems sad to continue to breed dogs who tend to lack teeth. Don't their tounges get dried out and sore from lolling out all the time? : ( Anyway, they are definaetly ugly and I KNOW they are loved and spoiled by their families... but, well, anyway... Perhaps someone should start making dentures for Chinese Cresteds?

the other dogs though, I think i'd have nightmares or worse waking up to something like that staring me in the face when I wake up.
The fat pug loaf is pretty cool. Of course, a real winner will be ugly in all photos.
