Why do jumping spiders give you the willies? They're one of the most docile families, and the only spiders I'll let children hold. (I do give specific instructions though, as even a jumping spider will bite if it thinks it's getting smushed.)

ditto about the willies thing...i think something about their movement lets me file them under tiny squirrel-like thing rather than spider.
Once in a while I get a pic with their fangs exposed though and my brain says "squirrel? really? you sure I shouldn't file this under horrible spider?"
