Okay, I'm no fun but I DO think that this is either an Existant species or this picture: http://www.wildlifeonline.me.uk/images/graphics/Fruitbat1.jpg tinkered with.
Either way this is a large bat in flight and it's got a head. ;) The body/torso is REALLY fuzzy. IF you look at the picture with any photo-shop-type program you will see the 'fuzziness' that isn't completely natural. If yo convert to B & W - there you go. :D
I'm not a graphics expert but that's my opinion. :D
This makes me want to jump up and down excitedly, right here in Borders. But I'd probably spill my coffee, and this shit is *expensive*. Still. The seven year-old in me is yelling "AWESOME!! Bats Rule!" at the top of her lungs. :D

It looks like it's holding something in its hind foot and it's putting its head down to eat it--insectivorous bats sometimes scoop bugs up in the webs between their hind legs and snag it with their mouths--they're really acrobatic.
Get it? AcroBATic?
I kill myself!

Australian fruit bats, also known as flying foxes are so cute (for danielle lea). This one looks like a small bat flying away with it's head down. And right foot up... Either way, they're still gorgeous :)
See-through headless bats? Got em all over the place here on the East coast!

Look at the visible foot: From the toe/claw length and spread, I'd say it's a fish-eating bat (Noctilio leporinus), or another species that occupies more or less the same niche. This little guy or gal probably has a fish in the other claw and is flying head down/foot up to eat in flight. Here's a pic of one with it's adorable offspring in tow.

Please, for my own sanity, tell me that this image has been photoshopped. I'm not sure I can live in a world where these fly around at night. I'm already afraid of spiders, giant land crabs, standard poodles, and naked mole-rats. I don't want to add demon bats to my list.

lolbats, instead of lolcats. How seasonally appropriate.
Looks like a fruit bat.

Awww...but look at the little tail nub. Cute!

Isn't this another picture of that 'new' fruitbat species you mentioned just a while back?
I think this is just that @ either a strange angle or photo-shopped. We'll see. I'm sure there are people more able than myself to say so. :)

He's flying away from us, in strong light, which is shining through the wings.
