Great news roundup Lozz! Must admit to being a bit out of the loop (swirl?) recently due to 'irl' commitments so this is a great summary of everything that's been going on. Dead console...my arse!

Great round-up indeed! I missed some of these announcements, like those NES ports. Though, I don't know how I feel about all these NES ports to DC. Anyway, I still have my eye on that VM2. Has the dev said anything else as far as if it's easy to transfer saves to and from the VM2 and regular SEGA VMUs?

It will be a matter of just a few seconds! ;-)

Well, when I read over the initial announcement, there was no mention of the ability to transfer saves to and from current/standard VMUs (and SEGA 4X's). I assume it's possible, but it's odd that compatibility with existing memory hardware wasn't mentioned anywhere. Hence my question. I don't want to spend $100-200 on another VMU just to not be able to transfer all my existing saves from my current VMUs and 4X's.

Totally understand. There is plenty of info yet to be released, and as I'm working on this 24/7 for months now, there is not enough time to mention every aspect of the VM2.

But, of course you will be able to easily transfer existing saves: By using a controller, and having VM2 on 1st slot, you can plug all of your existing VMUs on 2nd slot and copy/paste anything you want.

Also, as a last-minute addition I added an extra button (F-key) on the top of the VM2.
By pressing this button, the VM2 will on-the-fly disconnect the current virtual VMU, create a new virtual VMU on the root of the SD and then will connect again, providing a fresh & empty VMU.
This will ease the user in scenarios like e.g. when playing and find out that the current virtual VMU is full.
Or when you want to backup all of your existing VMUs and 4x Mem Cards.

No worries; I'm constantly working into making the VM2 the absolute peripheral for the Dreamcast! Hope I manage to have everything ready in one week from now, for the campaign..

Cheers folks. Things have been busy IRL for me too, but fortunately I was able to pilfer a lot of news tips from Lewis! He's clearly a very well connected dude, in on all the hot goss.

DCGX - personally I am quite picky about the indie releases I buy now too. I don't mind a NES port if it is done well and is priced reasonably. However, there are plenty that I'm steering clear of!

Thanks for chiming in on the VM2 Chris. Really impressive work thus far.

Igor, I'm just glad someone enjoys my scribblings. Stay tuned, I'm sure the DCJY crew have more in the pipeline.

Chris - Thank you for the confirmation! I'm definitely keeping my eye on this now!

Laurence - Yeah I get it. I stay away from JoshProd releases altogether now. I have no nostalgia for the NES, so NES ports don't do much for me. I bought 'Ghoul Grind: Night of the Necromancer' and that mostly confirmed my apathy towards new NES games. Space on my shelves is also becoming a factor for DC games now. But this helps me reign in spending lol
