Unfortunately touch screen controls are awful for most games and I can already emulate dreamcast games using reicast. I'm hoping this is just a small start for a major expansion to PC and consoles. As it is, the only excitement I have for it is Sega seems to care a bit about gaming again, and that's always a good thing...

There is Bluetooth support too, so that's always an option. But yeah, touchscreen controls aren't really very good on ever the best mobile devices.

What i like most about this is as stated by hoogafanter ,that sega seems to care about gaming again. The teaser seems good, i like the 90-s feeling in it, feels like the good old sega.

My thoughts about this otherwise is
1. Bluetooth controller sucks vs original , touchscreen ? No thanks
2. I will download this , and pay for the games i like most even if i wont play them on mobile that much (i probably have most of the original games on real hardware anyway) just to support sega.

Question, is this by Us sega or Jap sega or maybe both ?

You probably won't need to wait too long for that ;)

I hope not. It's like Sega is allergic to making money. "Hey I got an idea! Let's rerelease a bunch of old games that people are dying to play on newer platforms! But let's make them free and for mobile only lmfao trololololol"

I'd be curious to see if they fully commit to the bi-weekly release schedule. Hopefully gems like Panzer Dragoon Saga or Phantasy Star Online will be playable at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.

If this was for PC I'd be all over it. Mobile on the other hand...

Rumor has it that the source code for panzer dragoon saga is lost... We may never see a rerelease. It would have to be fully rebuilt from the ground up...

Along with what Hoogafanter said, Sega said the only reason PDS wasn't already re-released on a newer platform was because the source code was lost. It would have been on PS2 already if they had the source code. I don't know if it is possible to rip and decompile the disc image.

I'm less concerned about how the controls are but more so with how they run. If this is the same old tired emulation port routine I'm not excited for it but if its something more akin to the Switch's online service added with classic games I'd give it a chance.

Why isn't this entire thing on the Switch? Duh. that would have been incredible. The Switch has already turned into a mini Neo Geo and could have also been a mini Snes, Nes and Sega monster. Why oh why do suits not see this shit.
