Another brilliant post, but, but, where are you leaving us Tomleece? No more posts? Oh, come on....

Now, let me just add, that the DC version of Dreamcast has a much higher poly-count and much better graphics than the PC version... And I got Rez for 12 euros...

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time....

Good luck to you Tom. Enjoy the boat.

Nicely written article, it seems that you are capable of abstract thought but then we realize you paid for back-ups of games readily found on such sites as www.torrentspy.com, congratulations you paid for something you could have gotten for free online. You earn a gold star! And that Gary fellow is a genuine sausage jockey, selling copied games he downloaded for free, bloody wanker. BTW if anyone is interested in buying a CD-R of any of the before mentioned games, don’t. Contact me and I’ll send you a free copy. (vadim190@gmail.com)

Oh yea, while the DC version of Half Life is "prettier" then it’s PC counter-part, it’s fps are much lower and often drops below 30, while the PC version stays at high fps even on incredibly low-end machines. (300 MHz CPU) And if its graphics you care about, Half Life: Source is a little more aesthetically pleasing but they all still look like crap compared to any modern game.

Great post as usual! I was lucky enough to get a burned copy of REZ, without ever having known of it's esteemed status. Does it matter if Tom payed a few quid for his experience? I think not... Gary did him a favour, and obviously he really appreciated it. So I would suggest that it is you Spiff who is the sausage jockey for being so cynical. But hey... I'm all about the love so no bad vibes to anyone!
P.S. You can get yourself clean,
You can have a god meal.
You can do what your body feels...
Oh a life on the ocean waves...

Well yeah you CAN download these IF you happen to have a decent PC and an Internet connection. And you are savvy enough to recognize "safe" files.

However some people like me do not have an internet access at home I could afford it but I live in hicksville which means it would be hard to set up and worthless due to the poor quality of telephone and cable wires in my area. Most time the cable itself has interference (signal boosters and traditional fixes will not work). We have had to have it fixed like twice before they realized the the problem was in an outside pole box.

I got access at work but I cannot used it to download large files and even if I did I would have to download a torrent program which I do not want to do. Plus I usually do not have time to mess around with download stuff. Plus web usage and large file downloads are monitored by the parent company and it would be considered a waste of time.

So yeah. The guy is offering files that anyone with personal internet access. But not everyone has personal access. Gary is just providing a usefull service for a nominal fee.

They kept on preaching in college that Western society would become more technologically divided and people without internet access would soon not be considered at all by those that do have access. Or they would be considered lower than those with.

Since I keep seeing small examples of this I suppose I should have listened.

And some jackass in the store was talking about how great the X-box 360 is and when I came up looking for dreamcast stuff he looked at me like I was a leper.

For all those that have the world view that those with the technological "edge" are the only people that matter wake up. The world hasn't gotten that far yet. Not everyone has the internet access and the now-how to work it. Or the money to spend on a decent connection. Or a decent free connection like at a library.

Maybe one day we will all have decent internet technology at our fingertips no matter where we live.

Until it gets to the point quit bitching at people that for whatever reason can't download a large file or just would rather pay and not spend the time looking for the damn thing. And for the love of God please stop talking about how awesome "next gen" stuff is just because it is new. Gameplay and finding awesome stuff that you personally like is what really matters.
