As beautiful as Ecco is, the controls are pretty cumbersome and it's too easy to get lost. Shame, as while it’s great to show off to mates, it's gameplay a bit fishy.

While I'm not pre-ordering, I'm definatly getting the Wii at some point. Everything inbetween the death of the Dreamcast and the upcoming release of the Wii has been pretty boring and lacking in innovation. Now all it needs is more Sega games..

TeeCeeLee,
I think that is the best post/review I have read so far on this much esteemed site. It's not that I want to kiss ass, but the enthusiasm for Ecco resonates deep. Having played and enjoyed the original on MegaDrive (but like most games not to it's conclusion...) Ecco came as part of a package with the first DC I ever bought. I bought it on a whim from my nephew when there was already a (cough) PS2 firmly established in my abode. To see and play Ecco gave me taste of how good the DC was (exclusive franchise included). It was the 2002 seed that came to fruition with my current DC obsession/allegiance in 2006.
Now I have a note from the Post Office saying they have my 8th DC console with DCX disc and gasp... Sega Smash Pack ready for collection. I'm stationed at the Lighthouse this weekend but will be reporting back to Yardites about the merits of said game and the Treamcast very soon...

I bought Jedi Power Battles for $2 brand new last year but I haven't tried it yet (The PSX version, I have a huge collection of PSX games).

Stupid Invaders looked interesting, and when I first got a DC I was considering buying it, but I changed my mind.

I haven't heard many good things about Ecco (besides the beautiful visuals) so I passed that up all-together.

I actually kinda liked Stuid Invaders, if only because it brought back memories of playing Gobliins 2 on the Amiga with my Dad..

Jeeze! The graphics on all those games look pretty damn good!
Wish I still had my DC around.. :(

Maybe I will look at picking one up in the future..?

I've read and re-read my original comment on this post. It makes little sense and I'll attribute that to being gassed when I submitted it. However, disregarding the subject matter it seems only right to big up the excellent reviewing skills and witty verbage that pours forth from Teeceelee. If any person can spout such beautiful prose as he, about a defunct games console, I'll eat my sphincter.
As I'm a wee bit gassed I'll stop before I wee meself.
(only joking)Excellent post!
