I remember reading in Official Saturn magazine that the DC version of Scud Race was a very early tech demo (before that tech demo of the floating Japanese guy's face) not publicly shown featuring one level and one car from the game. Geist Force was also a tech demo I believe.

Daytona 2 was never officially announced for the DC, although ever since the launch I've seen those rubbish cheat websites featuring Daytona 2 cheats (from the arcade version, of course) in the Dreamcast section. Haha.

Still, shame Sega never did port Scud Race or Daytona 2, those games rule. There's a lot of Sega arcade titles that would of fit in perfectly on the DC actually. Some more of there light gun games especially, like Jurassic Park: Lost World and that underwater adventure thingy one. Oh well.

Actually, seeingthat video Geist force isn't what I thought it was...although I did see a tech demo pretty simular to that.

Those Soul Reaver screens bring back memories of the original... Back in the day that was the most awesome game I had ever played..

Yeah, the DC version Soul Reaver is a forgotten gem. The graphics are simply amazing in places and the architecture is so detailed. Soul Rever 2 looks almost identical, so I can't see why Crystal Dynamics would release such a piss poor reason for pulling it. Why not just tell the truth - "Sony paid us not to release it on th eDreamcast..."

I personally thought Soul Reaver was just anoher one of those dull PSX ports from what I've played. Not my cuppa tea, really.

Eh, I'm not sure Max Payne could honestly be done properly on a DC. It would have probably ended up like the watered down PS2 version.

The Xbox version on the other hand is fantastic, due to the 'power of X' and the controller being meant for the friggin' game.

This is the wrong blog to be using terms like "The Power of X" ;p

Thanx Brian - I believe you speak of Propellor Arena. Still havnt managed to get hold of a copy yet, but by all accounts it aint exactly brilliant, so there's no rush.

I love Propeller Arena - it's great fun to play (proper Sega blue skys & crazy action). But what about Agartha? There was a big multi-page article on it (possibly in ODM) towards the end of the DCs life - I'd never heard of it before or afterwards!

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah, we've featured Agartha here a few times - give it a search in the search box and you'll find it :)
