Hopefully Rally Racing would be forgotten in an alternate reality as well - even though I never hear about it or know much about it, I'm sure its nothing but evil. Colin Mcrae who? Lol.

The Colin McRae games are really very good - more of a rally simulation than Sega Rally for example. I really enjoyed them up until Colin McRae 2005 - it just seems nowadays that Codemasters just bring out the same game with a few new menu screens! Also, McRae hasnt been involved in the World Rally Championship for some time so why continue to use a licence that is out of date?! I don't think it has much appeal in the US because I'm pretty certain from your comments that Rallying has little or no impact. I suppose it's like releasing a NASCAR or Indy Car game over here - the average man in the street wouldnt have a clue who the drivers were. But as the old saying goes - Familiarity breeds contempt! lol

As a footnote, It's funny you shoul mention McRae - Colin McRae 2.0 was another canned DC game!

We have the same problem with the Madden football games here... same game every year with new stats...

My friend rented one of the Colin Mcrae Rally games for the PS2, and I only played it for 10 minutes or so, but I couldent really get into it. Maybe if I gave it more time I might have liked it, but like the points you bring up, maybe not...

I'm usually willing to give unfamiliar sports games a try, even if I usually dont end up enjoying them... Rugby 2004 comes to mind.

No, Rugby is shite. Never play a Rugby game. Rugby ranks even higher than Cricket in the 'Watching Paint Dry' league. Rugby World Cup '95 on the Megadrive was enough for me. Saying that though, I did give NFL Blitz a go and found it to be quite enjoyable - I even went as far as reading the actual rules to american football. Now thats dedication for you!

The NHL related hockey games always kick very large amounts of ass though.

In an alternate reality I would be a stick thin male supermodel with a propensity for clocking every DC game that came my way. I'm CERTAIN that it exists out there in some other dimension...but the ballbreaker is that in this grim shithole I will never experience it. However Seaman, Shenmue and the DC itself replace the reality where none of the above mentioned never existed...so I guess life goes on. Any more thoughts in this particular arena make me disappear up my own butt which is a place I for one would NEVER choose to be...
