Dear Jayarava,

When one dies, is that the end of experience? If it is, would that be a permanent state? Am I barking at the wrong tree?

The end of experience? If you die and I live, then I continue to have experiences. Is it the end of *your* experience? Certainly, since everything that defines you ceases at death in Buddhist metaphysics and modern physics. In Buddhism your life is the condition for another life, but that life is not you.

As far as I understand the world there are no permanent states.

> Am I barking at the wrong tree?
