Best. Article. Ever.

I really enjoyed this one; I think you tackled some very relevant, important and oft-misunderstood subjects. If you ever want to come down to Letchworth on a Thursday evening and give a talk, this would be a great one to give.

"Why the Buddha appears to have accepted a theory of karma is another story." - and perhaps another article? Hint hint.

Jason.

Hi Jason,

Was thinking of you today :-) Glad you liked this Rave. I thought it was a good'un. This theme which was very much developed while I was leading study at Letchworth continues to develop and pay dividends for me. It's still a big subject and I will no doubt be exploring it for some years to come. I'm also trying to explore the practical consequences in my practice - but that really is another story!

Yes another article on the Buddha and Karma does seem called for after that comment doesn't it ;-)

Best Wishes
Jayarava

Dani... exactly! And I'm not just making it up. The emphasis did start to change within a few generations of the Buddha, but where he is talking about dependent arising, he is talking about experiences (mostly suffering). Cheers, JR
