Hi, Jayarava
having followed your blog now for some time I want to take your last post as an occasion to give you some feedback. It me be a bit boring that I don't come in to criticize you, on the opposite, I completely agree with you about the 'cake'.
In general, your writing and reflection shows a balanced and grounded stance that might point others to the necessity of critcal historical-philological work and thinking too. Even if Glenn Wallis might not be one of the most beloved voices out there in the e-community I think he points in the right direction with his call for overcoming anti-intellectualism, consensus- and spiritual gain-orietation.
A request at the end, could you please tell me the link to the article by B. Alan Wallace and your response you mentioned in your last post. Wasn't able to find it by way of googling. Thanx.

Sorry I can't recall the Alan Wallace article - it was on someone else's G+ stream so I can't find it now either. It wasn't something that I would recommend reading in any case.

Dear Jayarava,
have to come again. You have touched a raw spot. I do not take the writings of BAW as that important. What I like to follow are the responses to him. When a friend pointed me to the Open Letter adressed to Stephen Batchelor and to the agnostics/atheists in general I have been just scandalized. How could one compare those guys to Hitler, Stalin and Mao? So in my eyes this wasn't a critique, this has been an attack below the belt. Off the track.
What I took pleasure in were the answers by Ted Meissner, Stephen Schettini and Stephen B. himself. So I do not follow the output of BAW so much as I like to follow the responses to him. But to do that properly I also need the source. In this way, my priority was on your response.

Kale phebs,
Eeze

Yes. Sure. But the answer is still the same - I don't remember.

Jayarava, I feel the need to stop in every once in a while and tell you how much I value your contributions to the Buddhist community. Your posts really resonate with me, and put into words many of the things I have observed and come to realize over the years. Thank you, and keep it up.
