Did you hear the portion in this video -- the portion which mentions something about the sister of Ahmed having told MSNBC that she was suspended from school for bomb threat "year ago"?
"...Numerous schools have offered Ahmed a place, his father said.... The family plans to fly to New York on Wednesday, where UN officials want to meet his son. He said then if they can get the right visas, Mohamed wants to take his son on a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. “I ask Allah to bless this time. After that, we’ll see,” Mohamed said. When they return, they planned to visit to White House and meet Obama, he said."
That's IF they return He appeared quite confident that those visas would be approved tout de suite. There may be something to the info in the earlier threads tying certain business enterprises (Alsufi Center...Irving Immigration Services) together with immigration and charity.
My place of employment has a yearly mandatory safety video.
"If you see something, say something."
We know that we will not be chastised for expressing any uneasiness.
The same applies to teachers and a concern expressed for classroom safety.

This may not be that kid's first rodeo with suspicious "inventions"....CNN: "In middle school, Ahmed said, he had been called "bombmaker" and a "terrorist.""
The kid's statement suggests he's been accused of this before.

I'm thinking that they may not return. In fact, that thought crossed my mind early this morning when I read that article.
We'll know in mid-October, the time at which Ahmed's visit to the White House is supposed to take place.
