The question "is the weather changing" has bothered many. This winter, whilst I was freezing my arse off and paying the highest heating bill in ten years - for amount used, not price - I checked the Canadian met office for temperatures that day over the last 56 years, their records for hourly temp readings go back to 1953. I averaged them out every ten years. Surprise surprise, the 90's were a degree warmer, 2000 is within one tenth of a degree of the 50's. An even bigger surprise, just about all of the Canadian weather stations are at airport. Unlike most of Canada, airports are in wide open spaces, away from forests and lakes in the midst of miles and miles of heat absorbing runways, parking lots and buildings.
