So Mr. Johnson. What is to be done about it? You can't just wave a magic wand or have some politician speak some incantation. You need to find the real reason for the Black employment problem. There have been hundreds of studies done as to why we have poverty in this country - many of them at tax payers expense. Perhaps you start there to find a solution. Begin in the 1920s when dirt poor Blacks migrated up North and settled in northern centers like Harlem. Blacks there showed the white elitists that they could create a viable culture and a community and art and music and literature that had whites flocking to Harlem to experience what was called the Black Renaissance and it created a new Black identity - that included nuclear families, business, church and other elements of a social fabric that lasted until the the Great Society programs opened the doors to Blacks to white middle class jobs and professions and the butcher, baker, banker, dentist, etc. left Harlem for the white suburbs leaving behind single mothers, crack houses and drug dealers to fill the void.

Blacks had a thriving culture long before they were told to discover their African roots.
