Ginger Littleton gets my vote for Gutsy Lady of the Week. Her only problem is, she needs a heavier handbag. A .38 automatic would help with that.

No, you fight back however you can with whatever you have. She acted to protect her friends/collegues.
The only misstep on her part was not swinging that purse like a baseball bat at his head. Or driving a pen from that purse straight into his ear or neck, as fast and repeatedly as she could. Then the others might have been able to jump him.

This could have ended so badly. Good thing the shooter had no idea how to handle that gun. Too bad none of the school board members exercized their Second Amendment Right.
Heros - School Board Superintendent Bill Husfelt who kept talking to and distracting the shooter and at one point, though saying he doesn't want to die, tells the shooter his beef is with him, why not let the rest go.
And member Ginger Littleton who whacks him in the arm with the purse early on. She had to know those would probably be her last acts on Earth. Thankfully they weren't.
