Quote: "when anyone tries to hold a "debate" or a "discussion" with a Muslim and tries to raise objections to Islam, they are yelled at, insulted and forced to shut up--and many, in turn, do shut up because they are decent human beings."

Ah, but that's where Spencer excels. I have yet to see the man become flustered or raise his voice. Spencer has the perfect balance of knowledge, energy and the most pleasant & respectful temperment to face off any opposition at every turn. He has perfected the 15-30 second soundbite permitted by the ever incurious msm. I learned a great deal from his work both online and through his books.

this video has several teaching moments-
Mr Spencer knows his facts...

he would not be out-shouted...

and he had a powerful man watching his 'flank' (military term)...the LONE wolf always gets picked off...

We all would do well to learn these tactics--believe me- the followers of Islam are well trained in them...

HRW,

I know what you're saying about RS raising his voice. I didn't mean raising your voice and start yelling back. I meant, keep talking like RS did and raise your voice if you have to be heard (again, don't yell).

Very well said. That's exactly what I say now and have been saying. We have to train ourselves for this, otherwise we will all fail!

BTW-thank you for this A-A...

You're very welcome.

AOW,
This is why I was so impressed with Pamela's coverage of this trial as well.

NOT ONLY DOES SHE KEEP HER COOL UNDER FIRE, BUT SHE ALSO MAINTAINS AND ASSERTS THE MORAL DIMENSION when she shouts at the press ...

"WHERE'S YOU HUMANITY?"

Spencer is so cool, he forgets to throw stuff like that in.

Not only does he keep his cool, but he's a walking, talking reference library. Spencer is the man!

Am I the only one who thinks Tom Trento is kinda hot?

Jdamn,
I'm a guy. I don't think he's hot.

;-)

Maybe, RRA or AOW could weigh in on that.

Robert Spencer knows Islam like the back of his hand OR at least as well as a learned Muslim would know.

Notice also that he said, "Mohammed, the prophet of Islam" as opposed to "Prophet Mohammed" as is the practice of many, even non Muslims. He knows he can't afford to make any statement concerning Islam that would give it the status of a respected and accepted religion.

I have seen and heard Christians say, "Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him" many times here in the UAE. Their reason? "We have to show love to them". I don't understand that concept. If you're trying to tell someone, "Dude, you're religion is nothing but a murder endorsing cult." You don't want to, at the same time, tell them, "however, I accept and respect your religion." There are a lot of mistakes that people make while dealing with or talking about Islam. I hope to write about that in detail soon.

Robert Spencer is very careful in the way he speaks. I admire the guy!

AA,
Very observant of you.

Robert Spencer also uses another term which ought to have resonance here in America (if anyone were actually listening to Spencer - other than the 30,000 or so he gets per day), and that term is

Islamic Supremacy

Robert Spencer has decided that we need to cast Islam in the same historical bin as Nazism.

I agree with him.

I, however, am not as sharp on being careful with my words. So, I am not consistent.

But then, I don't have the responsibility he has. I am a humorist.

Spencer is a great man.

Pastorius,

Coming from the Islamic culture itself, I understand the importance of words that you use in your conversations.

For example: Muslims always "encourage" non Muslims to say "prophet Mohammed" or "prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him" (depending on who you talk to). And they do that because they say that they deserve to be treated with respect. However, they will never say, "Jesus, the Son of God" as a token of respect toward Christians. Why is this one-sided? Why are we the only ones who have to respect the Muslim religion, and why not the other way around?
