It's so nice to see acts of kindness like this, and it's especially nice to see your family on the receiving end of it after you've spent the entire last month serving others.

I'm so sorry you're sick, but it's not surprising after all you've done last month, you must be exhausted.

We're switching to the early schedule tomorrow too and I'm sick about it, but have no business complaining since our building is just around the corner from us.

Oh, brilliant! It was when I'd just given birth to Erin that I realised how fantastic a meal can be as a gift. I hope you start to feel better soon. At least you're not so ill that you couldn't taste it. I hate it when you're ill and you can't smell or taste anything.

Paul has said in the past, 'That an answer to a prayer I never prayed'. Haha! God must know you haven't even the energy to ask.

You've reminded me I have people at church to thank for helping me with our Jesse tree.

With all of the help you have given to people throughout the year, I can't think of a person more deserving of a little break. I hope you get feeling better.

I hope you can kick what ever you have. The darn cold that is going around wants to linger for well over a month here. That is so great that someone listened to the spirit and helped you when you needed it. Get feeling better!

Ye reap what ye sow. I'm so glad that someone surprised you with some edible TLC. You and your family deserve it.

Get well, Kristi! I think you must've been operating on reserve energy during Christmas and finally just crashed.

I love green chilis, too! Were they fresh, in the soup, or canned?

You definitely deserve it! I'm sorry you're not feeling any better :( I would ask if there is anything I could do to help, but you'll probably say that there's nothing. Watch out, I just might show up on your doorstep one of these days...

Isn't it kind of funny how extreme a relief food can be, especially when you are so exhausted it's the last thing you want to plan and make. You are definitely a deserving family.

Just a few weeks ago we had returned from an out of town funeral with plans to go support a friend's caroling group. Another friend called and said, "Would you just like to eat dinner with us? We've got plenty!" What a relief, comfort, and such a touching gesture!

what a heartwarming story. I can't imagine how exhausted you must be after all you did in December.

I've been sick all day too. It's the pits. Get well soon.

The soup sounds fabulous! I'm so glad you liked it. Your family is so deserving! I love seeing service in action!

I hope you start feeling better soon. It's awful to feel that worn out!

We go late schedule tomorrow and I am so happy to say farewell to that nasty early schedule. We were late almost every Sunday of 2007. NOT good!

I am so inspired by this! What great people, and they are right, what a deserving family! Maybe they broiled the peppers and chopped them themselves? Or I 'll bet there are latin grocers all over in the area that sell more than the ortega diced green chilis.

Feel better friend! You deserve a rest!

Here is a wonderful recipe for chicken chile soup...I can't help with the chiles, though. I hope that it is close to the one you got (and it's super easy!)
2 cans of diced tomatoes w/chiles
1 can each of:
Black beans
white beans
kidney beans
pinto beans
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 packet taco seasoning
1 lb (or so) of chicken-cut up
Throw it all in your crockpot (do not drain anything) and cook on low for 4 hours. Serve with cheese, tortilla chips and sour cream.
Enjoy!

That is awesome! I am so glad someone did this for you! You all deserve it! If I lived close by I'd be bringing you dinner for sure! :)

We just switched to afternoon, and I am not sure I like it. Jared would not sit in Sacrament, my brother in law took him out and he seriously ran around the building the whole hour! I don't know what we are going to do!

I'm so glad you were the recipient of such kindness! It's always amazing to me when someone sees a need and steps in to fill it. I hope you find that recipe!

It sounds like you are feeling better now, I hope you are and not just pushing through the pain...
