[Image]Everyone should have a young, "she she" friend. Mine is Anne. She is uber hip, aware of all trends, up on all kind of music and tv shows, athletic, works in an office and gets dressed every day and wears makeup. I have not seen her in months or since we bound her quilt - yes that was months ago.
She knows me very well and this is why. She knows it is not likely I will ever answer my phone but she calls anyway. She knows I probably won't listen to her message until the next month but she leaves a message anyway. She is never surprised that I cancel on her and yet disappointed she will plan something with me again anyway.
She called last week gave me a time and a place to meet her and then she involved super amazing cupcakes to be sure I would not cancel. (she is brilliant)
We met at Georgetown Cupcakes in Georgetown (duh). I got a free parking spot right in front of the store. I have the best luck with parking. Which made up for the fact that I had two of my littles with me. (darn preschool being over) [Image]The shop is about as big as my small bedroom but it makes use of every corner. [Image]We got there a few minutes before Anne and the line was 15 people out the door and the shop had only been open 5 minutes. So we got in line as my kids were thrilled to be eating cupcakes at 11:00 am. There is no place to sit so we went straight outside to devour them on the brick sidewalks of Georgetown. Seriously there were no two happier kids in town. [Image]I didn't have Anne's expertise with me so I ordered on my own. The red velvet were AMAZING. I will have to say the best one was the bite of had of Anne's, the Lemon. Next time I am getting those for sure. [Image]I then felt a little "she she" walking down the street with Anne to Paper Source (thinking of Nora of course) in her DARLING floor length dress, up to date sunglasses and check out her darling necklace. The fact I was carrying a heavy 4 year old and telling the 5 year old to keep up reminded me of my non "She She" life - but it was fun to pretend. Thanks Anne for keeping me cool!!!
