What a great way to show your patriotism..wearing red, white and blue. I still remember loving the picture of your family in front of the white house all wearing white-and your girls' dresses had flags sewn in them. You really take the time to think these things through.
And that SPT where we had to get all dolled up and look our best? I totally had my hair pulled back and zero makeup..but it was me.
Just be yourself with SPT...fun to see what you come up with again!

Also, I know what you mean about getting behind on SPTs or wanting them to be perfect. I have missed a few along the way, but just try to catch up when I can or let it go.
I've noticed that you quite often dress your girls in RW & B and I've thought it was very sweet & patriotic (especially when visiting historical sites)!

SPT The emblem of the land I love
I was not sure if I really knew what the word emblem meant so here is a definition :
an object or the figure of an object symbolizing and suggesting another object or an idea.
i really liked this.
One of my many bits of advice when visiting D.C. is to wear Red, White and Blue when touring the city. The photo was taken this weekend on our whirlwind tour -it is on the stone walkway leaving the Vietnam War Memorial. I love the photos of our family taken at monument spots in our countries colors. The colors are an emblem of my support for this country and proud to be here - even though no one would ever know that, it is a secret just between me and myself.
I have been really absent for SPT and here is why. A few months ago the SPT was to take a photo of ourselves at our best. A week went by and I did not do my hair, wear more than a t-shirt or a stitch of makeup- so i didn't have a photo to use. I then didn't want to do the next week because I didn't want to miss a week. Then week after week went by all because I still had my hair in a pony tail. This is where the "Compassionate Perfectionist" battle with me comes in. I want my SPT to be just right and I don't want to let down lelly by not doing it, but i want it to be perfect, but i love lelly, but i don't want to miss a week - agh!!! So I watched weeks go by and every week had a great SPT - but could not stomach the fact I was behind and missing some. Silly me. So I still have my hair in a pony tail, no makeup and am just starting anew and moving forward.... ahh that feels better.
