I loved your homeade tie from last year so much that me and the girls made one of our own this year. It was a hit and I wouldn't be surprised if there were many more homeade ties next year. As always thanks for sharing your creative mind with me.

Several year ago, we started the homemade tie tradition for our entire church congregation. The Saturday before Fathers Day, they have an Activity Day specifically to make the ties. On Fathers Day, all the men are great sports and wear them. Ties are made for every man, children or not. Some wear 3-4 ties, one from each child or wear the previous years' when their children grow up, etc. It has been a very fun tradtion and continues to grow. Some of the ties even have dates on them. Each year, there is something different to add to the decorations. Lots of laughs and fun memories. With my older children grown and gone, when they called home today, they asked about all the ties at church today and what they looked like, etc.

Is that a chocolate "I love Dad" in the strawberries? What a fun little treat. Great pictures of Daddy and daughter together.

marie, it is a chocolate sucker. I bought three of them for the girls to give Jeff that morning.
i had planned to take a photo of each of them holding the sucker but they got eaten within minutes of me pulling them out.
i go them at the commissary about two months ago. i wish i would have bought them all and had them give them to the dad's on fathers day in our ward.

Way to go Bruce! Kristi, I love reading your blog and reading about all of your good ideas. (I'm Nathan Allen's wife, and he just told me the other day that he really thought he was going to marry you when you came home from your mission. I think he was in 7th or 8th grade, but he was IN LOVE WITH YOU!) You are so crafty! You make sure to let me know next time you are in Farmington so I can come over and meet the queen of crafts and ribbon!
