I haven't seen that movie in years, but remember that I absolutely loved it! Hmm - I think maybe I'll add it to my Netflix queue right now ;) Thanks for the reminder!

One of my personal faves (we used to watch it on sundays as a fam when it came out)...and we are High School Musical obsessed...check out our post about it: http://adventureswiththeprovosts.blogspot.com/2007/07/dear-auntie-jess-my-mom-said-that-i.html
And I like you, love musicals and wish I had the talent to be in one...I am going to see Wicked this weekend and will be singing along!! That's a great soundtrack too....

oh my my husband and I stood (we were not allowed to sit down) for 4 hours soaking wet outside the theatre, waiting for someone to not come and not use their tickets in NY to see wicked. it was worth every second.
what was so funny is we walked in looking like the dregs of the earth while everyone else seemed black tie. so great - have fun.

I love Newsies, but I had no idea it was the same director as High School Musical. I'm glad that director has come back to doing musicals for kids again.

Every time Nate says the word "Santa Fe", I break into song. "Santa Fe, are you there? Do you swear you won't forget me?..."

One of my kids favs! I'm sure the fact that my #2 son shares the same name as Christian Bale's charachter doesn't hurt. Just today my daughter and I drove by the real "East High School" here in SLC, and we were talking about how we were so excited for #2!! Kenny Ortega is a genius and I'm sure it will be great.

I LOVE this movie too! "Open the gates and seize the day. Don't be afraid and don't delay"...I'm singing at the computer. And now that song will be in my head all night. I think I shall have to go put Newsies and High School Musical on my Netflix queue.

So jealous of anyone who has seen Wicked. I'm dying to see that show. Sold out too quickly in DC and we never made it to NYC. Ah me. Someday. "Tell them how I am defying gravity. Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity"....singing again.

I really hope you get a chance to perform in a musical someday, Kristi. So many of my happy memories center around them. If I weren't busy mothering right now, I would be in them. All the time. Again maybe someday.

Again, I didn't read the whole post, but it made me think. I have your Newsies Soundtrack, and should give it back to you.

This movie makes me think of my best guy friend in High school. We'd watch it together at his house, eat junk, and sing. It was awesome.

Your post made me miss him.
