We brought a dozen pink roses (only $7 at Fresh Market) and 4 pieces of Godiva chocolate to the receptionist at the kids' summer camp. I know the resourse teachers and counselors get little gifts often but the receptionist is FABULOUS and totally overlooked! She is the eyes and ears of the place. Mrs S. was totally suprised and said she loved having the flowers on her desk because everyone who walked by commented on them. I didn't get a chance to post but we still did a RAK!
Great idea and the thought behind it! Whenever I am subbing or the permanent chorister in Primary, I have the children turn to the Pianist at the end of singing time and say, Thank You! I also ask them little trivia questions about the Pianist, her/his family, etc. They need to neve take for granted the Pianist/Organist. I think we will leave a surprise on the organ in the chapel this week.

I remember when you did this and loved the idea. I think church teachers and leaders go unrecognized and unthanked much of the time so they're really good people to start with if you're looking to do a random act of kindness.
That is a great idea! We have the same lady playing the piano in primary and the organ in sacrament, this would definitely be a good thing to do for her.

[Image]I don't really have a great random act of kindness from this week, but I was going through some old photos from Tennessee and was remind of something our primary class did one Sunday for the piano player. [Image]we gave her piano at church a heart attack. With notes and photos of the kids and a big box of gum.
[Image]you would not have to go this overboard. But could you imagine how sweet it would be to just slip a note on the piano before church services for the organ or piano player to let them know how much you appreciate the music each week.

My all-time favorite calling in the church is Primary pianist...it is seriously the best! And I would have LOVED something like this. Great idea!
