I have started to love the time that Savannah Grace goes to bed. It is now 2 hours earlier then it used to be. I don't even know what to do with myself. I used to use that time to clean up the house or get a little more work done, but this week I have been using it on a cute project for her bedroom. I do sometimes secretly hope that she will wake up before I go to bed, but her history of doing that means that she will be up for the next couple of hours and usually it is already midnight when she wakes up. I love to watch her sleep though and it's even better when I'm holding her in the rocking chair just after I have fed her. I usually just sit there for an extra 5-10 minutes just to watch her sleep.

At this point, I never want to awaken sleeping children. I have such a hard time getting any sleep as it is with J. He just does not sleep good at all! We are making progress on that though. One tiny step forward a few slips back every other day. I think it is really sweet that you do this with your girls! You are such a loving mom!

That's crazy, I never wake my kids up when they're sleeping. It's pretty sweet that you whisper something in their ears and that you aren't terrified they're going to wake up. I'd like to think if they were cute little toddlers that I'd like to do that, but now that they're big and so busy and talkative during the day I am SOOOOO ready for them to go to bed each night. I feel DONE for the day. The pictures of Sally Jane and Jeff are so cute.

That is so sweet. I can honestly say I have NEVER done that! It is just so hard to get my kids to sleep, I wouldn't risk waking them and having to go through it again! You are such a great mom.

I love to do the same thihg to Lulu. If I wake her up she will ask me to lay down and if I need a pillow. I LOVE it, because she isn't crazy and yelling or running, but usually really calm and much more snuggly when she is tired.

I go in every night to "re-tuck" my girls too. Both of them kick their blankets off and I am so afraid they will get cold, so I always go in and put the blanket back on. Both my girls are light sleepers and Noelle always wakes a little. She has me rub her back for a minute and she goes back to sleep. Chelsey likes me to play with her hair if she wakes up.

I love the "re-tuck" (although I probably wouldn't if they didn't go right back to sleep) and it is funny how I can be so anxious for them to go to sleep and then 3 hours later miss them!

Kristi, this is so silly but this post brought tears to me eyes and pulled at my heart strings. It just made me think about how greatful I am to be a mom and those precious moments we get to spend with our kids. They aren't small forever and I cherish these moments. I love to go in and re-tuck Luke in. When I see him sleep it reminds me of when he was a baby. Now with Elle, I see this little angel from heaven as she sleeps.
I love being a mom and I love to hear your wonderful experiences as a mom.

This is so sweet. Love the pictures. I used to do that with Mya, but lately I just don't like to risk it since she will be up for a while if she wakes. I like to know that she is safe in bed and I have the evening to unwind and take off the mom hat for a bit.

It takes all the restraint I have not to wake Ellie. It's almost painful. She always looks so sweet curled up the her "B". But I am too afraid she won't go back to sleep so I never wake her. If funny after being "momed-out" during the day that we want to be with them again. I love being a mom too.

My kids are SO terrible about going to bed that they are lucky I want to see them again by eight the next morning! I wish my kids were cute like that and would go back to sleep but- NO! I think you must be crazy! :)

I love this post. So sweet. I used to wake Jessica up from her naps when she was a small baby just because I missed her. I felt so empty with her not in my arms. NOW that they are big I am good with them sleeping and usually leave them alone!

You're crazy! I pray every night before I go to bed that Kaitlin will not wake up. Jeremy feels differently. Usually when she does wake up and won't go back to sleep he goes upstairs and lays with her. He told me the other night that he was sad she hadn't needed him in a few weeks. I should offer Alexander. . .

Until Kaitlin was about 1 Jeremy and I would go into her room at night to look at her sleeping. I loved it so much, and really mourned the night we decided not to do it anymore because it was waking her up every time.

Not crazy at all. I always re-tuck Brayden in and also go in in the night sometimes if I am up just to look at him and marvel at what the Lord has given to my care.
