I don't know if I am supposed to be laughing or not, but I am! I can see you out on that trampoline!! I think the lesson can be learned on both sides- not living in fear and listening to the sirens. So, do what you feel is best for you! And jump once for me! :)

Very interesting post Kristi. I, too, am laughing at the thought of you all jumping on the trampoline during a tornado warning. Yikes.

That is a very interesting question at the end of your post. Hmm... I'm going to think more about that. I saw on the news about the storms in Tennessee and wondered how close they were to you.

You Westerner! Despite what your neightbors may think your kids are going to have the best childhood memories! I'm way too uptight, so we would have been indoors seeking shelter wherever we could find it!

As for fear--I believe in it. It's a strong emotion, but only when it is truly warranted. I used to try to convince Kaitlin that the scary parts in Monser's Inc, or Finding Nemo were funny. But then I realized that I was dampening her sense of fear. I want to try to help her distinguish between being afraid when something is really scary, and being afraid of life and thus limiting her experiences. So I say, listen to the sirens, but consider the source, and listen to your own inner voice.
