Okay, I thought you were feeling overwhelmed and like you had too many kids...so what's up with this totally cute but time intensive centerpiece? It's beautiful and so are the pictures, it looks like art.
this was a craft project to make with the girls this week. annie kate broke a few eggs and got headaches from blowing out the eggs. but all in all it kept us busy.
I just went and looked at all your garage sale finds and I'm totalling itching to do that. I love stuff like that, but don't usually find it (or look very often). I'm officially inspired and will begin to mentally prepare myself for the garage sale season.
I love it! You're reminding me of my aunt. She see's something in a magazine (or anywhere, really) and recreates it. What a talent!

Ok, I am totally copying it! I was in the craft store to day and had to leave without buying anything because the line was too long and I had to get to work, now I know it was DIVINE INTERVENTION because I got home and saw your creation, and I am doing a little spin on your genius. Once again, you're the best! T
We must be on the same wavelength because our Activities Days event this week was part one (of 2) of an egg tree. The girls painted and sanded terra cotta pots and put in the florist foam and topped it with preserved moss this week and next week we will place the twig trees, put together the egg ornaments and decorate the trees. I made them do 6 blown eggs each for their homework. I have been all about robin egg blue and shades of brown for my decorations this year. I'll post updates of the girls projects soon!

[Image] easter centerpiece I have finally finished me easter centerpiece for the dining room table. I found a photo in country living this month and thought it would be the perfect thing to try to make. I picked some branches before they started to bloom, the green buds made it a perfect spring start. I blew the eggs and then tea dyed them. (i know there are brown eggs, but i liked the way they looked old. I did do one green one and two pink ones and then stained them with a cherry stain. I use a brown twine embroidery floss and threaded it through the egg. I had to tape two needles together because i didn't have on long enough. the little nest i tied on with the ribbon yarn. instead of ribbon i used two kinds of yarn. with knitting so popular these days you can find some great yarn. it is so much cheaper than ribbon. (67 yards for $6.00) the brown yarn i used was almost like panty hose. but i loved the way it felt. the ceramic eggs i bought at joann's in their cheesey easter section for $4.00 for all of them. the pitcher and bowl was one of my great goodwill finds for $7.00 a few years ago. It is perfect for what i wanted to do. this year is my year to really change how we celebrate easter (oh yes more to come, i am working on a easter advent calendar to do for the 8 days before easter) and i thought this was a great way to get it started. Simple. Beautiful. Delicate. Signs of Spring. what are you doing to get ready for easter? here are the photos of my creation
