Selling roses, giving a smile A bright eagerness in the eyes Almost always met with indifference Yet the hungry spirit never bends
An entire childhood, an empty pipehole traps And just like that, one after the other, futures' lapse Unfair but none want to think about it That pro'lly even their embers can have a life lit A small gesture can change many tomorrows' forever Schools and not streets is the answer The conscious wants to yield Thoughts come out, which were otherwise sealed Being born is not a crime Some have a silver spoon but some not even a dime Shouldn't they too have a crack at the future A chance to get out of labor and torture
But the signal changes too soon, The car speeds off, today it was roses; tomorrow it will be a balloon.
