yes, we're distracted from the fact we're destroying our 'space ship', many of our fellow 'travellers' - human and other - along with it and ultimately making it very difficult for future generations of humans to live relatively safe and healthy. the acidification of the oceans by CO2 is yet another sign telling us we've got to change our ways quickly and thoroughly. it's not a new phenomenon though.
