Joseph Smith hands the 'priceless' golden plate back to Angel Moroni

Yes, a poor farm boy, who just "discovered" some gold plates lying in a field, would most certainly bury the gold again to keep us rabble from actually seeing the plates.

What a bunch of baloney. Angel Moroni? More like Angel MORON and that's what one has to be to follow the LSD Church.

Don't forget to wear your special Mormon "Rapture" undewear, now available at all fine quality stores nationwide.

The Mormons tried to convert me when I was 16 (long story). My mom looked into it - there were some renegade Mormons who hired an Egyptologist and found out that the Egyptian plates that Joseph Smith had were nothing more than a document of an Egyptian funeral dirge.

Apparently, they looked into it further and found that Mormonism is a modern form of Ba'al worship.

Ba'al is what the early Hebrews worshipped, and is related to Moloch. see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baal

The owl statue at Bohemian Grove is supposed to represent Moloch.

The Mormons, like the Hebrews' curse of Ham, also have this idea that blacks are inferior.

The Jehovah's came knocking on my door the other day - one of them told me that we are supposed to be forever 21 and living in an "earthly paradise" - which sounds a little Jewish to me.

I have a nagging feeling that if you looked into both the Jehovahs and Mormons you will find a lot of Hebrew influence.

It's been said that the Osmonds are mind controlled slaves, according to Fritz Springmeier and others.

Andie531,

Correction.

You are referring to the Book of Abraham (review of a critical work proving BoA as a fraud).

Yes, BoA nothing more than a funeral scroll. Joseph Smith bought some papyruses from antique dealer and made a fake translation to produce a new portion. He also 'partially' translated Kinderhook Plates, which turned out to be fake as a ploy by a group trying to prove Smith a liar and Mormon religion false.

The Book of Mormon golden plate had "reformed Egyptian" which, upon close examination, is obviously fake, as Classics Professor Charles Anton replied to early Mormon convert (one of the first who helped fund Joseph Smith's "secretive" work to produce Book of Mormon by "betting the farm", and the one who mysteriously lost the 116 Page manuscript) Martin Harris that 'reformed Egyptian' is "Greek and Hebrew letters, crosses and flourishes, Roman letters inverted or placed sideways, were arranged in perpendicular columns, and the whole ended in a rude delineation of a circle divided into various compartments, decked with various strange marks, and evidently copied after the Mexican Calender given by Humboldt, but copied in such a way as not to betray the source whence it was derived."

I do not know about how derivative Mormon religion is in terms of borrowed Hebrew teachings. I know Mormon religion is part Masonic (ripped off), part polytheistic (Godhood and degrees of glory) and part fiction (Book of Mormon based on the delusional claim of Israelite Jews' settlement in Americas).

Mormon religion is probably worse than Scientology in entrenched mind control with the factors merged to form the main argument Mormon religion is indeed a cult -- no ifs, ands and buts.

Rick,

The missionaries can be zealous in trying to convert because they believe that every person's soul "must" be saved from doom in Spirit Prison or Hell when non-Mormons die. They are extremely delusional as the subject of brainwashing since early childhood (when 5- and 6-year old children are repeatedly indoctrined in primary and family home evenings -- any younger before that is somewhat difficult to "force" belief into).

Opinion piece (for legal reasons):

The first place I worked in Japan as an English teacher was Interac, which is run by the Mormons (American and Japanese).

They would send teachers to teach English at companies like Fujitsu, Hitachi, etc.

Interac has a HQ in Utah.

You may be interested to know that two very prominent "gaijin" (foreigner) celebrites in Japan are Mormons (Kent Derricott and Kent Gilbert). Everyone in Japan knows them. They both speak fluent Japanese and have a great deal of influence on the public there. Gilbert is a millionaire because of all the business deals, tv appearances and goodwill he gets from the Japanese.

Gilbert claimed to be a lawyer. A guy I worked with said he couldn't find Gilbert listed in any atty. directory in Utah or the rest of the US. He appears to be riding on a technicality. Anyone can call themselves a lawyer if they graduate law school, however you cannot be an atty. until you pass the Bar.

Another (gay) guy I worked with said he was intimate with Gilbert's Japanese boyfriend, who Mr. G. gave a BMW to as a gift. KG is married to a Japanese woman, BTW.

You can find both these characters on YouTube.

I just so happen to be a Mormon. And yes I spent two years of my life as a missionary for my church. But it was not due to any mind warping experiences as a child but instead a firm revelation to me that it was the right thing to do. As a young man (in my highschool days) I fell away from The LDS religion and had no intentions of serving a so called "mission." But that all changed. I received a firm revelation that Jesus Christ did in-fact exist and that the kingdom of God had been restored to the earth through a Prophet. I served a mission in Texas and in my two years I was able to see 23 people converted to the True Gospel of Christ. It's not because of me or because of anything I did, but instead because of the spirit, speaking to their minds and their hearts the truth. I have been an active member of the church ever since and NOTHING could ever shake my testimony or beliefs. NOTHING!!! I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord restored his gospel to the earth in this time through the Prophet Joseph Smith who endured more heartache, pain and trials than many people could, and I know he suffered through it because he had a greater knowledge of what's to come after death than those who persecuted him. I know that he saw and talked to God and his son Jesus Christ and that their power was with him. I know that our lives do continue after death and that we can live with those whom we love forever, and become like God. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he will return again. And I know that anyone who is honestly willing to pray to the Lord, just as Joseph had done in the grove, will receive whatever they are looking for...for he that seeketh shall find.

Paul,

What are you doing here?

Stop preaching. You are deceived.

Joseph Smith was a liar who led people astray. LDS Church still lead people astray by the millions.

____________

Galatians 1:6-9, New International Version

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—

7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

Book of Mormon is a false gospel. A complete fabrication. Sidney Ridgon and Joseph Smith invented the tale to start a new religion to make money.

I am in the LDS church and I know it's true because I prayed and asked God and through the Holy Ghost I have come to know that it is true. I have asked if the book of mormon is the word of God and through the Holy Ghost I am able to know the truth for myself. You can only read my testimony and depending on what spirit that you carry dictates whether you accept what I say and ask for your self or ridicule me. This is a warning from Act;5 v34 But one in the council rising up, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, respected by all the people, commanded the men to be put forth a little while. 35 And he said to them: Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do, as touching these men. 36 For before these days rose up Theodas, affirming himself to be somebody, to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves. Who was slain: and all that believed him were scattered and brought to nothing. 37 After this man, rose up Judas of Galilee, in the days of the enrolling, and drew away the people after him. He also perished: and all, even as many as consented to him, were dispersed. 38 And now, therefore, I say to you: Refrain from these men and let them alone. For if this council or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39 But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it, lest perhaps you be found even to fight against God. And they consented to him. This Quote is from the Matrix, The Oracle: It means know thy self. I wanna tell you a little secret, being the one is just like being in love. No one needs to tell you you are in love, you just know it, through and through. I hope you will all stop being hard hearted and become teachable so the Holy Ghost will show you all truth and the truth from the holy Ghost will set you free.

Nepos Libertas,

Only God can through his Prophet Joseph Smith restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth once more to prepare the earth for Christ's second coming. And what a fantastic tale it is if the Holy Ghost hasn't told me it is true I would not have believed it too. Check pray or prayer in the Holy Bible index and see what you can find. The biggest fabricator of this story is God and all we have to do is ask the Holy Ghost if it's true or that He has a church on this earth at all and to lead you to find it. Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God I have asked God and through the Holy Ghost I know he is and I am set free please read Act;10 v28 and he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit any one of another nation; but God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. 29 So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me." 30 And Cornelius said, "Four days ago, about this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, 31 saying, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter; he is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the seaside.' 33 So I sent to you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord." 34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation any one who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. Daniel is another example of Prayer being answered. To truly be free one must have a Desire to want to know, Prayer and the Holy Ghost are the ingredients to all truth and by it shall we all be made free. Only through this method can we cast away man made doctrines and creeds and go directly to the source of all knowledge that is God and His Son Jesus Christ.

The Bible is a history of God's dealings with the people of the earth and an account of His supernal miracles. It was written for the purpose leaving a witness of the existence of God and to teach us how to live to be able to draw closer to God. If you believe in God, it's not hard to believe that God could demonstrate His existence today and teach us how to draw closer to Him.

A lot of the comments about Joseph Smith's history are presented as facts, but the evidence is not as concrete as they make it sound. In fact, there are many historians (Mormon and non-Mormon) studying the validity of the Book of Mormon and of Joseph Smith's works and they have found a lot of historical accuracy, evidence and support; some of which is quite phenomenal. A good source for the historical findings and facts is in the book Rough Stone Rolling by Richard Bushman. Bushman is a Harvard-educated Professor of History Emeritus at Columbia University.

First off, the LDS church is not a cult. A cult is a church based off another church, and the LDS church isn't based off of any other church.

And second of all, we don't believe that all non-mormons will go to spirit prison. We believe that when they die, if they don't receive the plan of God or don't believe it, they will go to "Spirit Prison", or more like a school, to be taught about the Gospel. It's not hell and we only believe that you go to hell if someone denys seeing a holy entity, which aren't very many people around who have actually seen one. I'm sorry you have such hate toward us and if you would soften your heart and actually learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ instead of trying to bash it, you might feel for yourself if it really is fake or the real thing.

I know this is the true church and I've lived it and love this gospel and it brings such joy in my life to know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father about anything and He will answer my prayers. No one has brain washed me into learning any of this for myself. I actually was at a point in my life where I didn't want to be mormon anymore and could have left and bashed it like you are now, but I prayed and found my answer that this is the true church and I won't find more happiness than here.

I think there is truth to what you say, but a lot of it is false, and you really have your facts mixed up. Can you cite credible sources? If so, please do, and get the truth out in the open. There is no use in bickering over opinion. The Mormons are consistently the most selfless people I have known. If not motivated by truth, they are at least motivated by love. If you think Joseph Smith was in it for money or sex, I think you are grossly oversimplifying the issue. He was poor his whole life and was killed for his beliefs. If you doubt the validity of his claims through logic, show us. And then try proving that your beliefs are truer than the Mormons. You can't. The only empirical honesty out there is in being an agnostic, because our info will always be incomplete.

Jesus wept -- why are so many religious zealots (in this case all you Mormon apologists) functionally illiterate and incapable of completing a logical thought or expressing a simple relationship in writing? Whether or not individual Mormons are kind has nothing to do with the fact that the Mormon religion is (1) derivative of other sources and ideas, (2) demonstratively incorrect in many of its statements and positions on it's history, sources, and inspiration, and (3) simply wacked when you take even the most cursory look at it's structure and core beliefs. Saying Smith died for his religion is like saying Jeffery Dahlmer died for his belief in necrophilia...just because he was killed doesn't mean his religion was right or even that he believed in what he was doing it...it's a straw argument.

Yep, this pretty much opened my eyes!

I was born a Mormon and always Hayes having crap shoved down my throat, and lately I've been questioning the beliefs and structure of the church. I'm going to state my opinions here:

1 the whole, non-Mormons are going to "spirit prison" is retarded. I do not and never have believed in this.
2 the under garments are also quote unneccesary and just plain weird in my opinion.
3i hate how so many closed minded Mormons say how they know everything about the church is true without doing any research at all.

I can't explain or won't attempt at this time to argue or explain logically why I know that Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God. But I do know the way my heart burns when I read it, the way I feel when I go to church, and the blessings I receive from living according to God's word. I leave you with this scripture John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."
