Sometimes on these threads (not this one, but say one on Israel) I feel like shouting "will everyone in the front row sit down so we can watch the movie!" We do not know what's coming next, it's too early to head for the exits, so sit back and enjoy the spectacle. If we wake up some day and find we've launched a strike against Iran, then head for the streets and stay there as long as possible. Grab your local senator and shake him until his wig falls off!

To hell with 2 people in Manhattan, what about the 650,000 dead Iraqis killed by mostly your countrymen, followed closely by mine in an unholy genocidal pact?
This stupid, pointless incident is exactly what the MSM would like us to focus on!
The fact that 650,000 Iraqis are dead feels like a gaping wound in the earth - that's about to swallow us all in its wrath; but, you cannot expect people to ignore dramatic events that happen so close to home - in my case EXTREMELY close to home.
And, I feel bad of course for the families of the people who died. True, it's an accidental disaster - fate - but, it's still tragic for them.
A painful reminder that no one ever knows if they're going to survive to see another day.
I was thinking about that today - the fact that many people feel so bad about this because the man who died was a sports star - people can identify with him. They know him.
That's why it's so important to attach faces, names, and lives to the stories about Iraqis and Palestinians who are being killed and maimed each day.
There is a deliberate effort to dehumanize taking place that must be countered. That's why I re-posted the image of that little boy in Gaza today when I read about the evil weapons Israel is using, even though I had posted it before.
I immediately thought of that boy and felt people needed to see the image to visualize the description of what happens to human beings when they have their legs sliced off with these brutal weapons.
These are not just news reports - these are real people whose lives are destroyed.
I understand about the anonymous comments, and it does seem to have worked out. Also, I noticed you've been plugged multiple times on prisonplanet and st911! Congrats, it's well deserved! Ok now, before I overwhelm you with praise, on to the gossip: Whatever happened to Miss R? Did she finally investigate 9/11 and dropped dead from cognitive dissonant overload? ;)

In principle, it's exactly like the terror scare - make people fear for their lives to garner their support for radical policies and call all opponents terrorists, or terrorist supporters. The only difference is that anti-semitism is the better established meme, which has grown deeper roots over time. Finkelstein certainly has a point.
If you break it down, the quintessence is always fear. Without fear, all their tools fall apart, from hysteria to denial. I think this is what distinguishes us dissidents from the followers - at some point, we made the choice to value truth and moral principles over our own lives. I don't fear death, I only fear wasting my chance to stand up for what's right. Yay :)

Fire Department spokeswoman Emily Rahimi said an aircraft struck struck the 20th floor of a building on East 72nd Street. Witnesses said the crash caused a loud noise, and burning and falling debris was seen. Flames were seen shooting out of the windows. Video from the scene showed at least three apartments in the high rise fully engulfed in flames.
There was no immediate word on any deaths or injuries.
It was not immediately known if it was a terrorist act.More later...

I've come to the conclusion that essentially, radicals (i.e. zionists) span normal people (i.e. the jewish populace) before their cart, driving not only them with the all-purpose anti-semitism card, but whipping all critics along the road with it, too. In principle, it's exactly like the terror scare - make people fear for their lives to garner their support for radical policies and call all opponents terrorists, or terrorist supporters. The only difference is that anti-semitism is the better established meme, which has grown deeper roots over time. Finkelstein certainly has a point.
