OK... it's Frankfurt. But the airport might as well be a sausage factory. On this week's journey, I had four flight segments and four bus rides - no gates, just distant parking spaces. Same for the passenger in the seat in front of me today - four for four. Who are these guys kidding? If you want to run an airport, build one first.
The standard excuse is that 'air travel just exploded'. Yet, when demand for cars 'explodes', we expect manufacturers to increase production, airlines to add more seats, farmers to grow more corn... Isn't this a basic principle of supply and demand free markets? We call it capitalism. Even governments and airport authorities can play!
BTW, it is with noting that Frankfurt am Main airport is picking up the pace and making improvements.
