A message circulated this week to advise users that the BlahBlahBlah Mobile "Album online service will end soon. But don't worry - it's easy to download all your photos and videos so you don't lose them. And we've made sure you can still manage and share your content through our partnership with..." other BlahBlahBlah Online album service.
Who are they kidding? The original pitch was online storage forever when you used their products. Now they have determined that it doesn't quite fit their business model to be giving away all this free stuff. But you paid to buy their merchandise, to subscribe to their wireless service - all with the expectation that this album service would be free and would last forever.
Be sure to consider the staying power of companies you deal with. Beware of 'lifetime warranties' and 'unconditional returns' from businesses that are little more than a few random people answering phones in a room. Unfortunately, even some established companies fail to honor their promises.
