You can probably guess that there isn't a single scare to be had watching this movie. None.
Well, unless you count the time at the beginning of the film when you first see Jennifer Aniston and you think to yourself, "Oh my god, her nose. It's hideous. The horror. The horror." But that wears off after a few minutes.
So there's no way it's earning any stars on fright factor. And it lacks the polish and wit possessed by films like Shaun of the Dead and Evil Dead 2. You won't exactly laugh yourself into a coma watching this unless you're really, really high. Come to think of it, I wonder if you'd even bother watching more than a minute or two if you were sober.
But watching Warwick Davis get pulled over by the highway patrol while zipping through country roads in his cute little toy car, or bouncing on a victim's chest with a pogo stick was pretty great fun.
At least fun enough for me to bite the bullet and be the poor sonofabitch whose task it is to watch the rest of the Leprechaun movies.
There's enough utter kookiness to make enjoying Leprechaun's kitsch factor perfectly understandable. But if you watch it and think it's the lamest pile of crap you've ever seen, I could totally see that too.
