Rewrite 1: I didn’t leave my brain at home Rewrite 2: I’m not fresh out of hick high school Rewrite 3: I didn’t just graduate from kindergarten Rewrite 4: I did pass15 the class in simple smarts Rewrite 5: I’m not a Little Red Riding Hood in the forest
Comment: The tendency is to comment on education versus smarts, but both apply to this cliché, as do comments on naiveté, innocence, and provincialism.
