It's called a German pancake. And you can eat it for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Dinner, too, if we're being honest. The source video below talks a little bit of its history, so check it out. Also, the ingredients have been adjusted for individual serving.
Single Serve German Pancake (aka Dutch Baby) in Cast Iron SkilletIngredients:
1 egg, room temperature1/4 cup all purpose flour1/4 cup milk1 pinch salt1/2 tbsp butter
Direction:
Pre-heat oven to 425 deg F. Place cast iron skillet inside.
Remove cast iron skillet from oven. Be careful since it will be really hot.
Melt the butter on the skillet and spread it evenly.
Pour the pancake batter into the skillet. Bake in oven for 10 minutes until golden brown & puffy.
Remove from oven, let cool for several minutes. Add your favorite toppings such as berries, pancake syrup, whipped cream and/or powdered sugar.
