We're not going to make anything harder, you should try to read slower. We're just setting records for the challenges that were not present in the first version...
I added it to the article, to make things clearer.

The idea is fine. One problem maybe.
Now we should count our record without a counter. This is fine as long as we are talking about least portals/time, but counting steps are a bit complicated...
Is there a way to enable the counter with console ?

@katz: Yes, there is a way to use the challenge mode via console commands. sv_bonus_challenge 1: Portal Counter sv_bonus_challenge 2: Step Counter sv_bonus_challenge 3: Time Counter sv_bonus_challenge 0: No Timer (Default)
Type one of these in before you load the map, and then it'll have the appropriate counter for that map.
@katz: If you clicked on that little link, in the news, you'd see that there's a file enabling these challenges.

I take a bit of issue with one thing you stated in this post, Nicolas. You said that you'd take the best scores and implement them, correct? Well, if those are the best scores you can find, you run the risk of alienating players with less skill or experience, making things far more challenging for many people.
I suggest taking a rough average of the scores you have thus far, to make it challenging for those with fewer skills, while still keeping the pressure on more skilled players.
It's funny how people come here crying about the difficulty.
I was sorta disappointed at how easy the original Portal was, and the whole concept was more of a novelty than a intricate puzzle game.
This mod, if nothing else compiles some challenging scenarios with a bit of that humorous storyline and makes it all worth playing again.
Of course you can't say this is all the mods work, kudos to Valve for making the concept and game, then grats to this mod for making a more challenging version.
I can accept defeat, so I won't complain when I can't progress.

Skilled players wanted!
We're looking for skilled players to get an idea on where to place bronze, silver and gold medals for the 15th, 18th and 19th challenges of Portal: Prelude that were not present in the first release. We are nowhere near enough skilled and we really don't have the time to work on it before the release of the patch, so we need to know your best scores, with a video proof if possible.
The best scores will be integrated into the game in the next update, along with your nickname/website, inside the description of the given challenge. Feel free to help us if you already did something good or if you have an hour or so to waste =)
Take a tour in the forums to discuss your scores: http://www.portalprelude.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=2100PS: As we already said in the forums regarding the difficulty change in the next update, we did this because in 80% of the email we received, it was (with voices) the only complaint people wanted to do. And we're not blind either, we saw how people reacted and felt about this terrific difficulty from the start. It won't get much easier, just less frustrating (at the beginning).

Nicolas, if you make the challenges harder, I won't download the patch. Gold medals should be gold, not platinum. They're hard enough already.

Uh oh guys, Anonymous won't download a free mod. Better bend to his will.
Some of the videos I've seen on youtube are amazing. You should recruit those guys. :P
