"Therefore it would appear that the action against BDA is a carefully crafted political action and that it will be necessary that there be public understanding, discussion and debate about what is behind this action in order to find a way to have the policy that gave rise to the BDA action changed.

Instead of the U.S. mainstream press carrying out the needed investigation about why BDA has been targeted and what is behind this action, there have been continual condemnations of North Korea. Fortunately there are journalists like those who work with the McClatchy News Service who have made an effort to probe what is happening behind-the-scenes in the BDA affair and blogs like China Matters which have taken the time and care to begin uncovering what the BDA affair is really all about. This is but one of the stories of what is really going on behind the scenes within the U.S. government that has been hidden from the public. This is one of the stories yet to be unraveled by bloggers, and citizen journalists."

Re Cheney, I refer you to my comment on your previous post; he is medically and mentally unfit to hold office and needs to be removed...PERIOD!

Re the intellectual and moral laziness of some journalists (except for yourself, McClatchy and a few others), I concur.

I had a brief exchange with Forbes on the subject of the E&Y report, which they negelected to cover in their recent piece on BDA etc.

When I pointed out that their comment on BDA being involved in money laundering was not supported by the E&Y report, I received this weak and prissy response:

" the E&Y report hardly gave BDA a clean bill of health either..."

A form of lazy and weak answer used by people who wish the facts would fit their prejudice.

I would have expected better from Forbes.

The sad fact is that the "mainstream" media (with certain exceptions) have allowed this incompetent, dishonest and inept administration to "get away with murder".

The journalists who did this, and who still let the adminstration off the hook are every bit as gulity as Cheney et al for the shame that is now US foreign policy.
