Ah, I'm prob with John about the live show... (U have to pay for the ticket for the plane from Canada to the UK! lol)

That was good music for a club, very up beat.

The whole mushroom discussion with the Super Mario references were extremely witty. I laughed out loud at work, how humiliating. Nice work Jon!

I'm only half through the show, and I've got to wonder if there was some secret Ricky Gervais crossover. Has Rob been secretly replaced by Karl Pilkinton?

Seriously. Listen to it again.

Very funny show, and I see a new one's up already!

I'd definitely take a live show over any kind of club, I love live shows. I guess that redresses the balance a bit ;)

So let me get this straight: Women want an ugly, penniless guy who does not compliment them, always needs help, but does whatever he wants?

That’s me!

Too bad I’m already married…

#1 mistake men make with women in my opinion... being too chivalrous. I prefer a guy who will let me pay for dinner half of the time, and someone who will let me open the door for him if I happen to get there first.

80's music with Rob or live music with Jon? It's such a tough choice! I like live music better than 80's music, but I like Rob better than Jon! Awwww... just kidding. I would love either one - impossible to decide.

Molly, I can safely say that if I had asked any of the women I ever dated to pay for their half of the meal, I would have gotten a swift slap in the face (or worse)! I guess these Texas women are just used to being treated like southern belles...

Haha, well, you can't ASK the girl to pay. It just bothers me when I offer to pay and the guy refuses to let me. And to clarify, I am not a fan of going Dutch. It seems to impersonal. Besides, if the guy pays for my meal the first time, then there's a guaranteed second date because I then owe him dinner!

NO, never ask them! :0
but if it's a blind date, I think you should split the cost...otherwise the person who asked the other out should pay. But the other person can always offer to buy a drink/popcorn or whatever... xx

oh i almost forgot- i hate it when a guy buys me a teddy bear, and this seems to happen to me a lot for some reason. I'm a grown woman, not a small child...

this show was one of your best though, IMO...v v funny! x

Diane,

Could it be that your adamant aversion to teddy bears is due to overstimulation, the fact that "this seems to happen to you a lot?" Perhaps if you went twenty or thirty years without so much as a tuft of fluff in sight that the first guy brandishing a tattered Teddy Ruxpin doll would have a better shot at sweeping you off your feet?

oh Mark you're too funny! ;)

Yes, you may be right...over-exposure is a terrible thing, familarity breeds contempt etc...
But seriously, teddy bears are not sexy- or not in any way i want to know about!
If you bring a girl a gift, make it heartfelt and personal- something you know she likes. If she has a roomful of beanie babies then
1. is she really the woman for you?
and
2. you know she WOULD appreciate a teddy bear

Failing that, some cash would do nicely... ;)

PS: Teddy Ruxpin! I feel all nostalgic now :)

oh, i forgot to say- I'd rather go to a music festival than an 80s club...come on, LIVE music vs. taped Rick Astley circa 1988? no contest really...& Jon's paying, everyone! x

Diane - I totally agree with you on the teddy bear thing! I once dated a guy who gave me a stuffed ghost for Halloween. What?! It was a sweet gesture, I guess, but what the heck am I supposed to do with a stuffed ghost with a little orange ribbon around its neck??

LMAO Molly! a ghost, that's priceless! bless him... I've never had a Halloween gift, that's unusual! x

My ex bought me teddy bears for any occasion- some were cute, but still...I should have known a LOT sooner that we weren't suited! maybe they contained some kind of hypnotic power...?

what's October 20th Rob?

4:34 pm

Blogger Molly said...

Rob... ;)

Diane - come to think of it, the ghost may have actually been a birthday present, which was Halloween-themed because my birthday is 11 days before Halloween... :) Teddy bears with hypnotic power? That sounds dangerous!

ah, it's your birthday!a ghost for your birthday is even worse!!

(mine's this Friday Rob, if you want to not-get me a teddy bear) :)
