Good list Rob, I don't mind admitting I rather like all of those.

The podcast has dropped down to 6th top rated on podfeed.net now, some spoilsport gave a 3 star review.

Ray Parker Jr. !!!
[slaps forehead several times]
Raydio was his group.
"Jack & Jill" was a top 10 hit for them, it was the first 7" VINYL (yes, one of the old school music formats) I purchased.
Rob...[sigh].
I am with Rob on the Google issue (Google still too good to be shunned).
I am with Jon on the music thing (I do "love the 80's" though).
Great show, well done, lads!!
[sigh]..the only connnection was the Jr.

Who ya gonna call?

That brings back memories of our son (now 20) who lived and breathed Ghostbusters when he was 4-5 years old.

I'm 22 and have never really gotten over the 80s (which i am well aware makes me a sad case) and i have vivid memories of making mum play over and over again the Ghostbusters theme. More recently I've been going through the old vinyl and that track on our 'hits of 1983' record is well worn out. haha!

whoops...i meant 'hits of 1984'. i wrote 83 out of habit as its my birth year. :P

The 80's was ok because Liverpool Football Club ruled. Apart from that the 80's were a bit ***t.

I was at School in the 80's or rather avoiding school. So there's another reason the 80's was ***t.

Musically I was listening to Bad Rock music during the 80's so I probably have a lot to answer to.

I knew Sammy Davis Jnr sounded all wrong. He was in Cannonball Run.

How much fun would it have been if Sammy Davis Jr HAD sung 'Ghostbusters'.... "Who'ya gonna call... doo bee doo bee doooo.." ;-)

And who would ever have thought that the 80s hairstyles for men would be back in the 00's ? Looking like Limahl or having a mullet is trendy again. Yikes !!

Hey, Rob & Jon...we need some cheering up here.
Judy almost got killed today driving home (SUV nearly rammed into her side). Katrina is taking its toll on this country. Gas prices are heading the same price as the UK (and it is not tax related). :-(
Hope you get a chance to post a new show tonight. We'll be waiting up to see.
Take care, guys. We appreciate you and all you do. Really.
Cheers!

Yeah, some gas-guzzling SUV came within a gnat's whisker of slamming into me. I had wine for dinner tonight. I need a podcast.

All the Rocky soundtrack is great, I always liked the Never Ending Story song, that brings back memories. Anything by Yello is great.

Not a bad list - the best part was Jon getting more and more annoyed as the podcast went on!

Although what about Top Gun? Not the crappy Berlin song, but the intro music "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins (Der de de der der derr....)

And The Transformers movie soundtrack? OK, the movie was a contrived attempt to sell more toys, but the soundtrack is one of the best examples of 80's hair metal - best being a band called Lion performing the transformers soundtrack in full on 80's testosterone fuelled metal...

Agree that Sammy Davis Junior would have done a brilliant version of Ghostbusters!

My favourite movie soundtrack is probably American Flyers, but I've never been able to actually find it anywhere. It's also one of my favourite movies.

WHERE oh where was Footloose?!! Classic 80's bumpf (by which i mean I love it) & Top Gun should definitely have been there!

Never ending story??? Plucking at straws...& since when was 1990 in the 80s? AND what about Dirty Dancing???

Having said all that, I love the show! Keep up the good work...

But I'm a child of the 90s so can we have some 90s stuff now, pleeeease? xxx
