I just heard that; Mr. McCarver apparently only wants fast players to worry about how often they get on base. Everyone else, I guess, it's swing for the fences. But then he was lamenting all of Bellhorn's strikeouts - and players who try to hit homeruns are more than likely going to strike out more often.
