I hate to say this, but emulation of 'hardware quirks' (most of which are put in as a rudimentary form of DRM) might not be the best thing to do. Instead, we should try to NOT emulate those quirks as much as possible and then have a 'fix' for those specific situations where the hardware quirk is necessary that makes the quirk unnecessary to emulate.
