This was a very fine interchange, and an excellent look both at the insights behind gaming and what I see as a change in gaming culture. Comparing the early Dragon magazines with the ones today, for example, you find that the more recent magazines rarely if ever reference anything outside of gaming-related material, whereas many (if not all) of the earlier magazines (particularly pre-1980) discuss various matters and how they might relate to gaming. As Endymion succinctly put it: out of the box thinking.

Gaming is, at its essence, a creative exercise. Creativity thrives best when it has ample data to spin into new patterns. Diversity is key, and that means looking outside the gaming box as well as within it.

Hi TS. Just a moment in time.

We should talk again; it's been a long time in between.

"... has the American experiment run its course? Does there need to be a new revolution (a peaceful revision of the current system) so that freedom can again flourish?"

We need a peaceful reversion back to the original system so that freedom can again flourish.

Freedom is scary until you realize that We are All Created Equal.

Our true potential is much greater than we are programmed to believe by "public education" and (even more importantly) collective consciousness.

First of all, please understand that we are all programmed because that is the nature of consciousness. Our limitations are learned.

The power of our conscious mind is fantastic but it has been downgraded to "fantasy" by current collective consciousness.

The only way to truly comprehend what I am writing is by personal experience. Seek experiences outside what is commonly accepted... find your own path because self actualization will unify the individual with the collective. That is the only true form of altruism. Seek the truth even if you must go looking in places that current collective consciousness stigmatizes -- such as religion, nature, fantasy.

Our forefathers, Gandhi, Jesus, and so many enlightened historical figures all Knew truth is within the individual and obscured by collective. This is why our forefathers and Gandhi believed in decentralized government, sovereign individual...

Ron Paul sees "outside the box" and understands the elegance of the original American system.
