I was about to join, when I conveniently remembered that I forgot to renew my ALA membership. Golly, what was I thinking?

Admiration of your peers? That's very hard to believe. Cruel impersonations and choruses of snorts and snickers, maybe, but admiration?

I have nightmares about our book truck drill team. I still don't know how I got involved, particularly when I went to great lengths to avoid it.

Very sound advice. I'm on some committees (like, collection development and technology "stuff") and if any of them ever turns into "dancing with a book cart," I will just go break my ankle or something. Because, while a broken bone sucks, nothing can suck as much as national humilation with a book cart.

Oh, Lord. I was hoping our library was the only library with a booktruck dance team. Dammit.

Is that really a real poster? Like, for cereal? I don't know whether to be envious, or run and hide.
