I remember a couple of times when I was offered a tip and I almost went into shock. It's all a part of impeccable public service, folks! My pleasure.

I accept chocolate, baklava and American Express cards as tips.

It would be about time! It seems that everyone else (from the skycap to the CEO) is getting a bonus/tip of some sort.

I work in an academic library and I've gotten candy and other small gifts but the best is when a student comes back to thank me and tell me what a great grade they got on their project.

I was offered $20 because a man won a $400 bet because of the information I gave him. No, thanks. Just telling me you won because of me is tip enough!

We tell them that it's part of our job, but the library will accept any donation they care to make at the register at the circulation desk. That being said, we always appreciate edibles!

The best comment is what the Librarian said about a student coming back to thank her. I worked in a middle school library and loved it when the kids would tell me that they liked the book I'd recommended. (or hated it -- at least they cared?

I've been given, and accepted concert tickets from a very happy patron. Was within the gift price limit policy, and so didn't have to give them up to my boss.
Have also been given cards, chocolates, and a teapot.
