Everyone who asks a question at the Reference Desk will get answers in the form of a QR Code!

2 weeks ago I staffed the reference desk from home in my pajamas. Libraryh3lp for the win!

use the desk area as a mini gym and get a workout while working the desk. use books for weights, do pushups against any flat surface, hold on to library carts for squats and leg lifts. patrons won't mind as long as they get what they need between sets.

I would hire new librarians who actually want to *gasp* help patrons.

I would get rid of the desk and get Geoff the robot skeleton from the Craig Ferguson show to replace it. And for back up when his answer of "in your pants" doesn't cut it - an ipad with access to only Skype so they could ask a real library peron.....who could be lounging at home drinking martinis while working.
