I have to hide my Google Reader. What can I say? It's an obsession. I'm reading it right now. At this very moment. As soon as I finish typing.

Whoa. Part of my job is reviewing web sites to see if they violate our college's computer acceptable use policy. Sometimes it takes me hours to make a determination...

I teach internet classes and so must carefully follow every blog, social networking space and anything else that interests me, to the exclusion of doing my real work. It's all in the name of education. The fact that the classes are for Seniors who can barely use a mouse is irrelevant to the pursuit of my own knowledge and happiness.

I couldn't agree more. As an acquisitions librarian, I must follow trends in publishing, and that includes (lots of) web publishing.

Wow - didn't realize that this was such a big problem. In terms of Feng Shui, it's always a good idea to have a clear viewpoint of others around you while also allowing you to do the work you need to do. Now, that's good energy!

And if you are going to be looking at t-shirts of lynchings do not sit at the computer at the desk. Closely tied to this is if you work at two libraries, remember not to spend too much time on the other's website while at work.
